Software we built because our clients kept asking for it

We build and support two products for Indian MSMEs. Nakad handles POS billing, invoicing, customer credit limits and automated collection follow-up on WhatsApp and email. NY Stock Control handles goods receipt, material issue, location tracking, physical counts and variance reporting. Both are priced for a small business, both work on a phone, and both are a one-time purchase with no annual charge.

After years of watching capable businesses run their receivables and their stores on a spreadsheet that one person rebuilds every month, we stopped recommending software and started writing it.

Nakad and NY Stock Control, side by side.

Why these two, and not a full ERP

For a business under about ₹50 crore, a full ERP is usually too expensive, too slow to implement and too heavy to get adopted. Meanwhile, almost all the pain sits in two places: money owed to you, and material sitting in the stores.

So we built exactly those two and made them work on a phone, because that is the device the person in the stores and the person at the counter actually has in their hand.

Nakad

Billing at the counter and collections in one place. Raise the bill, and the system already knows who owes you what, for how long, and who to chase this morning.

  • POS billing for counter, shop-floor and van sales, with GST-ready invoices and multiple price lists.
  • Live ageing by customer, salesperson, branch and bill — always current, never rebuilt.
  • Automatic reminders on WhatsApp and email, so nobody has to remember to chase.
  • Credit limits and stop-supply alerts that fire before an account goes bad, not after.
  • Collection targets per person, with a daily dashboard an owner can read in a minute.
  • Receipt allocation against specific bills, so partial payments stop creating disputes.
  • View it on your phone — the whole receivable position, wherever you happen to be.

NY Stock Control

Inventory software a small manufacturer will actually use. Goods in, material out, counted every month, with a variance report that names a person and a date.

  • Goods receipt and issue against purchase orders and job cards, from a phone in the stores.
  • Godown, rack and location tracking for businesses with more than one storage point.
  • Reorder alerts based on real consumption, not a level someone typed in three years ago.
  • Physical count sheets and an automatic variance report after every count.
  • Slow and dead stock reports showing what your money has been sitting in, and for how long.
  • Bank and audit-ready stock statements generated, not assembled by hand at month-end.

What this looked like in a real business

Client names are held back for obvious reasons.

Manufacturing · ₹350 Cr turnover

₹12 crore was sitting in the stores, not the bank

What was wrong
Slow-moving stock had built up over three years and customers were paying after 120 days. The company was borrowing to fund inventory it did not need.
What we did
Ranked every SKU by how fast it moved and what it earned, cleared the bottom tail, and offered a small discount to customers who paid early.

Inventory down 35%, collections down to 60 days, ₹5.5 crore back in the business.

Manufacturing · stores & inventory

Stock on the system never matched stock on the floor

What was wrong
No defined process for receiving, issuing or counting material. Mismatches were common and pilferage was a real risk.
What we did
Set up goods receipt notes, issue slips, periodic physical counts and a monthly reconciliation that someone is accountable for.

Inventory differences down 50% and stock records now trusted by the bank.

  • Support from the people who built it

Manufacturing · ₹350 Cr turnover

₹12 crore was stuck in slow-moving inventory with customers paying at 120 days. SKU-level ranking and an early payment discount, run on live data rather than a monthly spreadsheet, released ₹5.5 crore of cash and cut collection days to 60.

Questions we get asked

Will this replace our existing accounting system?

No, and it is not meant to. Your accounting software stays your book of record. Nakad and NY Stock Control handle the operational layer — billing, collection follow-up, goods movement and counting — which is the part that normally lives in a spreadsheet and nobody trusts by month-end.

What does it cost?

Nakad is a one-time purchase: ₹7,499 for the POS module, ₹9,999 for the Receivables module, or ₹14,999 for both together. That is a lifetime licence — there is no annual renewal, no AMC and no maintenance charge, which is unusual for Indian business software and is deliberate. Setup, data migration and team training are included. NY Stock Control is quoted separately depending on the number of godowns and item masters.

Is there really no annual charge?

None. Most Indian business software charges 18–20% of the licence value every year as AMC, so a ₹15,000 product quietly costs you ₹45,000 over a decade. We took a different view: you buy it once, you own it, and adding another user does not change the price.

How long does implementation take?

Typically two to four weeks, including data migration from your existing spreadsheets or software, master data clean-up and training. Stock implementations are best timed to start right after a physical count.

Do you customise it for our business?

Within reason, yes. Report formats, approval limits, document numbering and integrations are configurable as standard. Deeper customisation is quoted separately.
